There is a lot of questions about copyright issues for newspapers online ... mainly, how to protect a newspapers content from being stolen. We are currently looking for your suggestions on this issue.

Here is our take so far:

Copyright is a real issue and not one that really has a solution in terms of stopping people. We can add copyright notices and easy ways for people to contact you to use the articles, but to be honest, there is not a whole lot that can be done to stop someone from copying and pasting an article from your site onto theirs. I think if you are up front with users on your site and add a message at the bottom of each article on how to get permission to use the articles, then it might keep some honest people honest with it, but it will not stop someone from using it outright. The problem is that the sites are text-based, and any test can ultimately be copied off the web. This is why AP is getting harder on its affiliates and not winning the war with it .....
